ZIMFETP Responds to Cyclone Idai Disaster

Cyclone Idai is regarded as one of the worst tropical cyclones on record to affect Southern Africa. This cyclone brought strong winds and caused severe flooding and mudslides in Madagascar, Malawi, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Mozambique. February Monthly Seminar

The programme held the February monthly seminar as usual at the MOHCC boardroom at Kaguvi Building, Harare and this time, the seminar was graced by AFENET Executive Director, Dr Chima Ohuabunwo who was in the country on a working visit.

Strengthening Health Systems in Zimbabwe.

The Zimbabwe MOHCC in collaboration with ZIMFETP and WHO started the implementation of the competency-based leadership, management and epidemiology training program for recent medical graduates who been deployed as District Medical Officers (DMOs). Epi Info Training

During their third week in the Epidemiology module, residents are taken through a training manual as a learning guide to enable operation of Epi Info version 3.5, a statistical package used to analyse data. Training is facilitated by second year MPH FETP residents with guidance from the assistant field coordinators.
